Teara Fraser is the first Indigenous woman to launch an airline in Canada. Iskwew Air bridges traditional air transportation and sustainable technology. Fraser is also the founder of the Raven Institute, serves as a B.C. executive committee member of the Canadian Advanced Air Mobility consortium and has been actively engaged in the British Columbia Aviation Council for over a decade.
HOMETOWN: Hay River, Northwest Territories.
TOUGHEST CHALLENGE: An airline startup in a global pandemic is pretty up there.
GREATEST SUCCESS: I am very proud of RavenSPEAK – Indigenous leaders and storytellers (ravenspeak.ca).
FAVOURITE QUOTE: “You haven’t seen a tree until you’ve seen its shadow from the sky.” – Amelia Earhart
