In 2014, Stephanie Smith became the first woman elected president of the BC General Employees’ Union, which represents more than 85,000 members across a wide range of sectors. Smith is currently a member of the B.C. government’s Poverty Reduction Advisory Committee and the Canadian Labour Congress executive council.
