Merle Alexander, QC, holds the hereditary chief name Lagax’niitsk, of the Hailzaq/Tsimshian First Nations. He practises at the epicentre of legal reform in Aboriginal common law, Indigenous legal orders, natural resource law and environmental law. Alexander is co-developer of provincial and federal United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples legislation.
