In a profession traditionally dominated by men, Melissa Craig commands a team of 25 in the show kitchen of the Bearfoot Bistro in Whistler. An award-winning executive chef, she is the recipient of the coveted gold award at the Gold Medal Plates’ Canadian Culinary Championships – arguably the most prestigious culinary event in Canada. Craig’s career began in Malaspina University College’s world-renowned culinary art program. When she was 20 years old, she became the first Canadian female to win the prestigious National Apprentice Competition.
