Manny Jules, OBC, is a member of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc and served as chief from 1984 to 2000. He led the amendment to the Indian Act so First Nations could levy property taxes to designated lands on reserve. Jules was the driving force behind the First Nations Fiscal Management Act, which created the First Nations Tax Commission.
