Celeste Haldane was reappointed chief commissioner of the BC Treaty Commission in May 2020, and was first appointed in April 2017. Prior to this, she served as an elected commissioner for six years. Haldane is a practising lawyer and an active member of the Indigenous Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. She is a director of Brain Canada and of Legal Aid BC.
