Bonnie Henry

Provincial Health Officer
Province of British Columbia

Bonnie Henry was appointed B.C.’s provincial health officer in 2018 following three years as the deputy provincial health officer. As the province’s most senior health official, she is responsible for monitoring the health of all British Columbians and undertaking measures for disease control and health protection. Henry has led B.C.’s response on the COVID-19 pandemic and toxic drug emergency.

FUN FACT: I don’t own a car but have a pretty cool (and rather large!) shoe collection.
FAVOURITE QUOTE: “Common suffering builds strong bonds.” This is a Prince Edward Island saying but is so relevant to us now as we emerge from this pandemic. That and another P.E.I.-ism: “You cannot know the mind of a squid.” Both are so wise!
